DIY Cake Stand- Thrifted Thursday!
How-to Make a DIY Cake Stand- Thrifted Thursday!
Today I’m going to share a simple project that I did in preparation for my newly tiled kitchen. Since I’m finished tiling the backsplash- Post coming soon!- I wanted a few more pretties for on my counters.
This is seriously, so easy, animal without opposable thumbs could probably do it. One minute, your done!
I love this cake stand from Pottery Barn, but I don’t love the $35 price tag. That is basically what I paid for all of the tile in my kitchen! (Check the clearance at Lowes whenever you go in, you never know what you’ll find! Maybe tiles for $.2 each!)
I found a small white milk glass bud vase for $.59 and a pretty plate for $.79 at my local thrift store. I’m sure you have some at your thrift store too!
Flip over the plate and add glue to the edge of the vase. I used hot glue because it’s what I had on hand. I used E6000 glue to glue together a tea cup/saucer sculpture for a Mad Tea Party shower and it worked like a dream. Some readers said that it can be put in the dishwasher as well!
Stick it on the plate.
Get a cup of coffee and catch up on some Facebook with all of your extra time. Your done for the day!
Here is your ridiculously easy, adorable cake stand!
I’m sorry if you’ve lost some brain cells by how easy this is. I’ve made them lazy, they didn’t need to work today.
Now fill ‘er up!
